Welcome to Thistle & Crumb!

Hi, I'm Stefanie — the brains, hands, and sprinkle-covered apron behind Thistle & Crumb!

By day, I’m a medical director and strategist in the healthcare industry. By night (and weekends, and any spare moment I can find), I’m elbow-deep in royal icing, turning cookies into edible art.

Both science and creativity have always been a big part of who I am. I have a PhD in molecular biology, which means I spent years studying the tiniest details of life — and now I obsess over the tiniest details on cookies. It’s basically the same, I just traded my lab coat for an apron!

I started decorating cookies over 10 years ago as a creative escape. What began as a hobby quickly became a passion (and a mildly out-of-control collection of cookie cutters). Now, Thistle & Crumb is my happy place and I’m so excited to share my sweet creations with our community.

When I’m not working, baking, or chasing down rogue sprinkles, you can find me training for triathlons and spending time with my husband and two boys.
